Congratulations to all our 6th class pupils. We are so proud of you all and wish you all the very best in the years to come. Today was a wonderful celebration for you all. Huge thank you to Fr Pat for a memorable and meaningful celebratory mass in the church this morning with all your families and pupils of HFNS. Thank you to all your parents/guardians for celebrating with us today & a huge thank you to anyone who helped in anyway to make today memorable for our sixth class pupils. 🥳😄

A warm welcome was extended to Kerry’s star goalie Shane Ryan today when he presented medals, trophies and certificates to our pupils for their outstanding achievements throughout the school year both on and off the field.
  • We celebrated receiving our fourth Amber Flag and Shane presented certificates to our very active student council members to recognise their commitment to mental health and well being in our school.
  • Shane also presented certificates and medals to our four chess teams who represented our school in chess tournaments and chess competitions throughout the year.
  • We celebrated the All Ireland Under 11’s Credit Union champions after what has been an amazing year for the team.
  • On the field we had an extremely successful year for both our girls and boys teams. The school won three Cumann na mBunscol football titles..a first in our schools history.
  • We celebrated our pupils who were on the winning team of Division 2 at the Dylan Crowley Tournament
  • We celebrated successes of pupils who represented at Kerry county level for various sports.
  • We celebrated our winning teams for our annual school soccer league as well as acknowledging our top scorers of the league.
  • Many thanks to all those involved and thanks to Shane for taking the time to call to us today ✨🏅🏆🟢🟡

We are thrilled to be awarded our fourth Amber Flag for successfully promoting positive mental health and wellbeing. On Monday, John Dempsey from Pieta House came to our school to accept a cheque of €538.05 which the pupils donated during Wellbeing Week. Today we raised our new flag with our local hero Shane Ryan who also presented each of the committee with a ‘Mental Health Hero Certificate’. Huge congratulations to our Amber Flag Committee/Student Council and indeed all the pupils of HFNS and their families who always support our initiatives.

Today we held our annual school sports day and what a day it was. Children enjoyed a day full of drumming, gymnastics, athletics, hurling, obstacle courses, hockey, tug of war, egg & spoon races, welly throwing to name but a few. Here are some snaps from the day..more to follow. Huge thank you to all staff, pupils and everyone who helped out.

Some of our sixth class pupils represented us so well in the Garda 7-A-Side football blitz today in Fitzgerald Stadium, winning three out of five games. They played great football and showed excellent team work.

We would like to thank Sixth Class for all their incredible sporting achievements and the many wonderful occasions they’ve shared with us over the years. Each and every one of the class have been outstanding ambassadors for our school, representing us with pride, dedication and excellence in everything they have done.
