1st Class have been busy working hard these past few weeks. Here are just a few photos of what we have been learning.
Science Investigations: Transparency and slopes and friction

Maths Week problem-solving, number posters and shapes trail.

Recently, we had some very special guests to our school! Eight Bull Mastiff puppies visited the very lucky boys and girls of Junior Infants, Senior Infants and 1st Class! Thank you so much to James’s Mum, Emma Cooper for taking the time to bring the puppies to visit us!

We had so much fun playing and cuddling the puppies! Later, Emma spoke to 1st class about how to look after puppies and we learned lots from her. Thanks again Emma!

The boys and girls in Second Class have also been very creative this month and constructed some fantastic Colour Wheel Eyes. Before the children started their project, they learned about the different parts of the human eye and colour mixing in science. Then, the children had to identify and paint the primary, secondary and intermediate colours onto a 12 piece colour wheel. When the colour wheels were dry, the children cut out a large white oval for the sclera, the colour wheel for the iris and a small black circle for the pupil. They glued these onto coloured paper and added some black strips of paper for eyelashes. Check out their fantastic work below.
