Introductory Statement
This
policy was formulated after consultation with teachers, pupils and parents of Holy Family
National School .
A
committee of 2 parents, 2 children, 2 teachers and a dietician worked together
since December 2008. This committee surveyed the children and parents to seek
their views and suggestions, researched healthy eating options and produced
Holy Family Healthy Eating Guide.
We
focused on this policy to support parents and pupils around developing healthy
eating habits at an early age. This policy is linked to:
- SPHE: Taking care of myself
and my body: Food and nutrition and making choices.
