Our school was opened for pupils on 31st August, 2007. Holy Family National School came about as a result of the amalgamation of St. Joseph’s Boys’ National School and the Rathmore Convent Primary School. The school was built on a green field site formerly owned by the Presentation Sisters Rathmore.

N.S. is a Catholic school under the patronage of the Bishop of Kerry. It is a co-educational school.
We have an enrolment of 212 pupils from 145 families. At present we have eight classroom teachers, three SEN teachers and one administrative principal together with three Special Needs Assistants.

Not alone do we have a modern GP Room but we are also extremely proud of our Astro Turf playing facility which is of great benefit to the pupils in our school.
