CHRISTMAS CONCERT
Our Christmas concert will take place on Mon.
Dec. 19th and Tues. Dec. 20th. The
concert will commence at 12.00 noon on both days. We recommend that parents of Jun. Infants,
First, Fourth and Sixth classes come to the concert on Mon. Dec. 19th
and parents of Sen. Infants, Second, Third and Fifth classes come on Tues. Dec.
20th. If this arrangement
inconveniences you in any way, please feel free to come on the day of your
choice. It is the same show on both days
so you are welcome on whichever day suits you.
CHRISTMAS RAFFLE – PARENTS COMMITTEE
As you will know
the teachers and children are working hard in preparation for our biannual
Christmas Concert next week (Mon. and Tues. at 12 noon). There is no entry fee to the concert and all
are welcome. However, the parents
committee would be grateful if you could support their Christmas raffle which
will run on both days. Tickets will be
available in the hall and we are grateful to the local businesses that have
generously donated prizes.
The Parents Committee will sell tickets on
each day before the Christmas Pageant. Children will also have the opportunity
to purchase tickets on tomorrow Friday, Monday and Tuesday in school. Tickets cost €2 for 1 strip, €5 for 3 strips.

CHRISTMAS PLAY DVD
Rathmore Social Action Group will record
the Christmas Play and we hope to have 40 copies of the DVD available on
Thursday. These will be available on a
first come first served basis and if more copies are needed they will be
delivered in January. The cost of the
DVD is €10.
CHILDREN’S CHRISTMAS MASS
Mass on Christmas Eve Sat. 24th
Dec. will take place at 7.00pm in Rathmore Church. On Christmas Day Sunday 25th Dec. it takes place at 11.30am. Mass on Christmas
Eve is particularly orientated towards children.
SCHOOL UNIFORM
Children are not required to wear their
full uniform on Monday and Tuesday.
Class teachers will inform their class on suitable clothing to wear to
facilitate costume changing for the pageant.
All pupils will wear full uniform
on Wednesday and Thursday. Fifth and
sixth class pupils will go on their annual visit to the day centres on Thursday
to provide entertainment.
LOCAL ST. VINCENT dePAUL FOOD APPEAL
The local St.
Vincent de Paul wish to acknowledge and express their sincere thanks to
everyone who so generously donated food to their recent appeal. All the food has been put into hampers and
these will be given to needy families in our community over the Christmas
period.
CHRISTMAS
GIFTS
We wish to
advise parents that the staff of our school do not expect presents from
children. Therefore we would ask you not
to be buying presents for members of staff as we feel that families have more
than enough to deal with at these times.
CHRISTMAS
CARDS
While we know
that children enjoy giving Christmas cards we feel that these are also an
unnecessary expense. If they still want
to give Christmas cards they could make their own at home. They are much nicer.
MISSIONARY MAGAZINES
Thank you to all the boys and girls who help to distribute and
collect the subscription for the Far East, Messenger, Africa and Outlook magazines during the year. Orders are being renewed presently for Messenger (€18) and Far East (€10). We are asking the boys and girls who
distribute the magazines to bring back the renewal subscription envelopes as
soon as possible. Thank you.
PANTO TIME
For all the children from 3rd, 4th
and 5th classes who filled out the application form for the
pantomime, the first rehearsal for the Children’s scene will be held in The
Community Centre Rathmore on Saturday, Jan. 7th at 12 until 1.00 p.m. Forms are available at the school office for
children from these classes and should be returned as soon as possible.
